The Building Performance Association (BPA) and the Home Performance Coalition (HPC), working as dual entities, are pleased to announce the publication of their Kentucky Energy Efficiency Workforce Analysis Report. This project was made possible by the Office of Energy Policy within the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy State Energy Program (SEP).

This comprehensive report provides an in-depth assessment of Kentucky’s current energy efficiency workforce landscape, identifying key opportunities and challenges within the sector as the state works toward a more sustainable future.

In the report you will find:

  • A deep-dive into Kentucky’s current energy efficiency landscape, including workforce challenges and opportunities.
  • An overview of current and upcoming government-funded initiatives in Kentucky that will support the advancement of the industry.
  • Recommendations with built-out strategies for energy efficiency professionals in Kentucky, including training opportunities for workers, program design suggestions, and preparation for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) programs.
  • Results from BPA/HPC’s Needs Assessment Survey, which gathered responses from various types of energy efficiency professionals in the state.
